An interesting article about a topic that is definitely on peoples' minds right now. I think it's a complicated situation and depends on many factors. I go to the theaters roughly once a week (depending on the season and what's out), but I am single and childless, so it only costs me a few bucks per movie (because I go to the earliest showing). But for families with children, there's so many financial reasons to not go see a movie like this.
Pixar choosing to create Lightyear was just a bad decision. No one asked for this film and it would've been better suited to going straight to Disney+. I think something like Turning Red would've been a better choice for a theatrical release, but maybe that's just me.
