Great review! This is a movie I hated while watching because I viewed every character as manipulative and that just made me incredibly uncomfortable. I wanted the movie to end as soon as humanly possible just so I could get out of this dysfunctional world.

But it sure is well made. I'm so pleased that it's getting so much critical acclaim. Everything about this movie comes together to present a gripping story with fascinating (and even infuriating) characters. And, like you said, it subverts lots of expectations, which is always fun.

I'm so intrigued about how it'll do at the Oscars. I hope that it picks up at least a few wins because it sure is stunning.
