It’s a straightforward plot filled with fun fight choreography.

The Princess follows a princess who has to fight her way out of a tower she has been trapped in to save her family and her kingdom from her evil fiance. It’s kind of like if Rapunzel had used a sword to get out of the tower rather than relying on a prince to climb up her super long hair.

For me, the best part of the film is the way that the cinematography and the fight choreography go hand-in-hand. The fight sequences in this film are so fun, and the camera makes sure to show us as much of the action as possible. After seeing John Wick, a lot of action films have been ruined for me, but this movie holds up.

It’s also a joy to see these scenes specifically designed for women.

This film has a very straightforward story. It doesn’t do anything particularly revolutionary in regard to the plot or characters. The princess (Joey King) is the eldest daughter, and because her parents don’t have a son, she is responsible for marrying an appropriate suitor. Though she knows this is her duty, she can’t go through with it.

The princess is tough and longs to be a knight more than anything else. She is a skilled fighter who has trained for years, which means that she is the perfect one to mow down…
