I had a very different experience with this movie... I loved how the main character (and many of the other humans) go on their own character journeys. I also really enjoyed how many themes are woven into this film, in addition to having great monster moments. But I'm also not as well-versed in the Godzilla movies as you are... I have some homework to do!
