I love your review! I was also in the gifted programs in school and turned down an offer to skip a grade. I never realized how many of us went through similar things!

I really disliked the show, but I like how you tied your experience to the story. I wish that the show had better capitalized on Beth's defeat. I thought that even after her loss to Benny, her bounce back felt too easy. I appreciate what they tried to do, but it just didn't work for me.
