I really struggled with this movie. While the battles were epic, I wanted more about this larger than life character. I wish the scope of the film had been a bit narrower, focusing on a smaller section of his life, in order to better flesh out who Napoleon was.

Like you mentioned, I think the 4-hour cut will be able to explore these better, but I'm not sure that I want to sit through that.
