I tend to agree. I dislike that studios seem to plundering existing IP instead of investing in something more original. I understand it's a safer bet financially, but it's not as fun as getting new stories.

When I do watch a remake, I also try and watch the original just for greater context. Sometimes, it's interesting to see where the story differs and where creative liberties have been taken. And what those differences say about how the world has changed.
