I watched The Haunting of Hill House last year and didn't get sucked into it like everyone else I know did. (Maybe it was a bit over-hyped by my roommates who made me watch it. Or maybe I'm just too much of a contrarian.)

But I have been meaning to read the book. I haven't read any of Shirley Jackson's works and maybe this spooky season is the moment to change that.
