I’m Scaling Things Back
Reshuffling my priorities for the end of 2024.
I’ve noticed a pattern in my life. In the fall months, I have a desire to create.
In the summer, I just want to tuck myself away from the heat and do absolutely nothing. Writing, creating, and dreaming just feels like pulling teeth. Honestly, the heat just zaps everything out of me.
But once the temperatures start to drop — look out. I will have a new idea, a new dream, or a new venture to pursue. And that’s happened again this year.
I got the idea in my head that I want to write a mystery novel. I love mysteries, and I love novels, so why not try my hand at one of my favorite genres? I have a couple of ideas that I’m starting to flesh out, and I’m really excited about both of them. I can’t wait to see where this idea goes.
I’m also going to be releasing a children’s book next year. This has been quite the roller coaster of a process (maybe one day I’ll write about that once I’ve gotten a little more distance from it). While I don’t have a final publication date yet, it’s coming, and I want to get my ducks in a row for its release.
When I look at work, friend, podcast, and fun writing obligations, I’m not going to be able to consume the same amount of content to write as many articles on Medium. I…
