Such a thoughtful analysis! I was so perplexed while walking out of the theater but the more I thought about it, the more I appreciated everything this movie tries to do. Once I was able to put it in the gothic story category, the movie started making a lot more sense to me. It is one that I want to see again because I know I missed stuff the first time.
