Very well-written piece! I, personally, loved that Nomadland didn't go after Amazon and instead just took us on Fern's journey. It was a lot more pleasant than reality, but I love that the film painted such a different picture than we normally see of the unhoused.
I hope there will be other films and shows that do take a stab at the inhumane practices of capitalism and the pitfalls of the American dream, but I didn't feel like Nomadland was the right place to have that discussion... but maybe that's just me.
Anyway, I loved reading your review and you make some excellent points that really made me think. Thanks for sharing!
