You hit the nail on the head with this one.

I Care A Lot is stylish and confident, and superficially mean. Director J. Blakeson’s crime drama is like a Cohen Brothers movie without the sardonic wit. It is a cheerless story about bad people doing bad things for profit. That’s fine.
